Job Description

To be the recognised provider of quality solutions to the development industry, delivered with passion by our expert staff.  

A senior transport consultant is appointed as a key player on the technical aspects involved in projects and aiding delivery alongside the Project Managers and Directors. They will take some responsibility for client management, assist in developing the product and managing resources. They will report to the senior management team (SMT) and are responsible for some limited aspects of financial management of projects.  

The SMT, Project Managers and key account managers.  

Maintaining delivery of a high quality of product and services. Developing their skills and those of the project resource. Managing workload so that assigned tasks on projects are delivered on time and with an appreciation of budgets. Maintaining and developing client relationships alongside others. Recognising and generating business development opportunities alongside managers.  

 Manage team resource on tasks and some projects Plan, manage and deliver tasks and some projects Making good quality, timely decisions in a project context Apply problem solving to client and project issues Able to deal with change in the needs, challenges and environment of the job Planning and implementation of project goals alongside Project Managers Some client management on projects alongside Project Managers  

Assist with problem identification and solving issues on projects Applying innovative approaches to work and managing junior staff · Keeping up-to-date on industry developments in terms of policy and technical themes

Transport Planner/Senior/Principal requirements 

 

1.      First degree/qualification in relevant discipline such as Geography or Civil Engineering. 

2.      A masters in Transport Planning, or similar. 

3.      Consideration given to support further education for example part-time masters for right candidate. 

4.      Knowledge of transport planning preferably to include preparation of Transport Assessments & Travel Plans in support of new development. 

5.      Appreciation of the planning system.Specifically relevant Policy affecting new developments and sustainable approach to transport. 

6.      Knowledge of common industry software Junctions 9/10, Linsig, ACAD, TRICS, etc. 

7.      Knowledge of MS word/excel/powerpoint, etc. 

8.      For senior roles, proven track record of delivering solutions to achieve planning permission. 

9.      Knowledge of preliminary junction design, application of road safety audit principles, parking standards, etc. 

10.Project management for senior/principal roles 

11.Ability to communicate to wide ranging audience and attendance at public consultation.
